It was the last Sunday of 2020. I was praying the Holy Rosary before Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary La Naval de Manila at the Santo Domingo Church when an idea popped up. With the intention to encourage everyone to pray the Holy Rosary, this passion project was born.
Launched on January 17, 2021, coinciding with the Feast of the Sto. Niño de Tondo, Pray It Forward is envisioned to start and create a ripple effect of a community that prays not only for oneself but, most importantly, for one another.
Each batch of 21 chosen individuals will be given a bracelet/pocket rosary, which I personally and manually made for free.
The number 21 (5+16) was inspired from the bible verse James 5:16: “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
Also, I have an emotional attachment in the Epistle of St. Jude verse 21: “keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.“
Now, these chosen recipients are encouraged to:
Pray the Holy Rosary.
Do good for someone/others.
Inspire others through prayers.
There is no need to show proofs for the first and second. However, they are requested to send a copy of their prayers to be published in the Amen section of this website. With these prayers, people may be inspired to pray not only for their intentions but also for others. I believe that praying for one another is not just another box to be ticked but a habit to build.
Since the project was launched, several people got interested and contacted me. I am overwhelmed by the initial amount of responses, and I hope to open slots for more batches in the future and, if possible, reach people around the world. To those who will not receive the bracelet/rosary, may the project’s message still live in your hearts and move you to practice its essence.
